Shorthand automatically runs when you start up your computer. To verify that it is running and enabled, look for the white arrow in the System Tray.
If the arrow is red, Shorthand is disabled. Right-click the arrow to enable or disable Shorthand (alternately right-clicking the arrow enables or disables Shorthand).
